We need a neon sign for a music venue.
Does anyone here do that sort of thing?

I have had more than one responder. This is the information I have given those people :-
I'm the 'owner' of the African Music & Dance Group, which exists to promote African music in SL. We have some land deeded to the group, where we want build an exhibition space and venue - the Soukous Club. It will all be open-air - no walls and no roof. We have started building - still some way to go, but you can get an idea of our design preferences at http://slurl.com/secondlife/ZoHa%20Islands%20N/6/248/30 - urban, cool, avatar-friendly - *not* faux-touristique, hippy, Tiki. So far, we have barely thought about lighting and signs - but I think it would be nice to have a neon sign glowing in the dark at night - somewhere above the club area. It does not have to do anything fancy - a neon glow would be enough. I don't know how it could be done in practice - but I have had some thoughts - Look at the attachment, maybe as a starting point. The top image uses a cursive font (Lucida Calligraphy Bold) and the lower image uses Gill Sans Bold. The word 'club' is different (Gill Sans, not bold, and smaller) because we may eventually have a Soukous Bar and a Soukous Café nearby. I think I prefer the top image, but I don't expect a neon sign to be identical to either -- and I am *very* receptive to suggestions for something totally different. Unfortunately, we do not yet have a logo for the club. Some questions I would like to ask a neon sign creator - a) Could we change the colours? (NB: that is a question, not a spec!) b) If it is mounted on a thin panel, will people see the same sign from both sides? c) Would it be better to mount it on a four-sided or triangular box, than to have it on a thin panel? d) How much do you charge? The neons so far flash 6 different colours, However you can pick and choose the colours you like. b) If it is mounted on a thin panel, will people see the same sign from both sides? Thin panels seem to work perfectly fine for neons d) How much do you charge? $500L for a Modify/No Copy/Transfer version. $1000L for a full permission version.
