Simply put..I suck at making my own.

I created my own account long ago, but my first life interrupted me before I could put in any real time to making my avatar, and now that I'm picking Second Life back up, I'd like to correct that mistake.

What I'm looking for is someone far more skilled than me in the art of making good looking avatars, to do the work that I simply cannot in making the face, head, and body that I desire to be in-game. Further help in such things as more interesting clothes and such will be greatly appreciated as I try to slip into a new life.

heyas;

kirven, there are tonnes of places where you can buy new shapes... and skins, clothes, blah blah blah. far too numerous to mention.

but... you can also look on the educational events listing. almost every week is a small class called 'avatar makeover' or some such. this might just be the ticket you are looking for. ;)

If you are looking for shapes I recommend starting at places where you can buy demos first. Granted they come with enormous hands and feet most of the time... but shapes are expensive and never look the same on you as in the pic. When I was first starting out I would buy 5 or 6 before finding one that worked and that would cost me 1000s of lindens for 1 shape that looked good. So look for demos... just my advice :)

Toss me an IM in-world. I'd be happy to help. I have never paid for a shape, and have done male and female avis. I DO, however, recommend you buy a quality skin, so plan on putting out 1200L or so for that

To date, most clothing aside, I'm still pretty much a zero-dollar avatar. =^-^=

Very good looking freebie shapes and skins can be found by anyone willing to look. Take the advice from the people above offering to help... Check out the freebie malls for easy early pickings. (^_^)

And... As always... I will shamelessly plug NCI as a great place to find freebies and help. (^_^)y

You can try searching at "Style Your Destiny" (SYD store). They have a lot of freebies and 1L skin, clothes & shapes -> http://styleyourdestiny.wordpress.com
I think the expensive skin they have is around 100L

Redgrave has some of the best skins I have seen so far. Also check out Naughty Designs, theirs are nice too. Good luck with your search :)
