RL stepped in the way for the last year, but I am back now. Before I left I was working on an NPC system, and before I continue with it, I would like to know if there is much interest in it. I do have a working demo that I can set up somewhere if anyone would like to check it out.
Thanks

Sounds like it has potential. Careful of the monthly fee, bit - the notion of that, regardless of how small, might turn some people off. That said, it might not have a drastic effect on things. I can see lots of uses for this - especially if the AI is worked on a bit so it can respond to trigger words in chat (i.e. quest answers, help topics, whatever). And it should also have an option for advanced scripters who want to do their own things with it. When a trigger condition is met, it can send a link message. (Allow a customizable number, message, and id - be it the key of the target, or whatever --- could take some thought and planning). That way the AI can act as the trigger bit, but the scripter can do the rest - whether it's give things, do things, vanish, lead the way to something, or whatever. Having a plugin style system where it's easy for developers to add things can take a lot of hassle out of your work too. If someone makes something to add in - it's one less function that you need to worry about making, updating, supporting. See what you can do to limit the NPC's need to access the web site so you can keep the monthly cost down to a very nominal fee and I can see lots of people being interested in this. Especially if it comes with updates and it's something you're going to be constantly improving and working on.
