i can think of many uses for this feature: hair, tails, fish, whales, plants, ect.

How about replacement prim heads that use shape animation, changing only the flexi channel, to replicate facial expressions?

what i wanna know is why linden labs hasn't given us this feature yet. Why can't the sphere be flexie? i don't see why it cannot flex like most the other shapes. What is it thats stopping them?

Jamay, that can be done already, using what appears to be a simple script, changing the sculpty texture to a slightly different one.
I saw the first example of this on day one. As for flexi... we just got sculpties. It's still a little early to be demanding them to be flexi, too, no? Personally, I'd rather they fix the bugs that matter, like the constant ruthing, attachments stuck in my butt etc etc, than add flexi to sculpties. I'd LOVE to have it, don't get me wrong, but I'd rather have those flexisculpties where they're s'osed to be, rather than sticking out of my ass. _____________________

We have had flexie prims for quite a while now but yet no flexie sphere. I can't see why it would be hard to do, i mean if i can bend a sphere sculptie then it should be able to flex. There was a trick to it, but its doable. As long as the Lindens understand that you have to flex from north to the south pole with each ring of vertexes grouped evenly. As for fixing bugs, there are some Lindens that fix bugs and some that help make new features. If they were to add this, it should not slow down the bug fixing at all. Unless this feature creates a new bug which i don't think it will. _____________________

My thoughts are that there's probably a very good reason that sculpties and spheres aren't flexi yet.
I'm not sure what it is, as I'm not a programmer, but surely there must be a reason, else they would have done it. I'm sure if it was just "you have to flex from north to the south pole with each ring of vertexes grouped evenly", then they would have implemented it already. As for "some do this, some do that", I understand that. But surely you understand that it's not about the manpower, it's about the fact that more features = more things that the "fixers" have to deal with. _____________________

Most of what I heard was that right now, flexis are limited to one attach point due to client strain. Flexible sculpties would probably require a rather incredible amount of GPU usage. Do you really want the minimum/recommended requirements of SL to jump up that much?

im preety sure if they knew how or had a way to make spheres flexi...
then im sure theyd be felxi. im not saying they are stupid, im saying... If they had a way and knew how to do it, im sure theyd make it happen. like everything in second life, they had to learn how to add the different features we have today! anyway, im sure they tried or are trying, and if not... so what! they still did an amazing job on creating the content of this game you are complaining about. |

Hmm I have 2 flexit antaenae that seem to work ok worn on different ears? _____________________

IE you can't have a chain sculpty that is connected on two sides to an object and the middle flops around freely. _____________________

I'm just stating that this feature would greatly boost the economy. I don't know if they are having problems with creating this feature, or if they havn't even tried. But i do know that its possible to bend the sphere because i've done it. _____________________
