Dearly Darlings,
I just clean an old tile floor with Whink. I did not know that Hydrofloric Acid etches tile...I was only trying to clean tile around the old toilet that broke and the new profile was not the same. I am now applying Whink to the rest of the floor....what can I apply on the tile to protect the etched surface?! Maneo is about to stroke out, any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!
Ever Yours,
Mrs. Showdog Tiger

WHAT ON EARTH WERE YOU THINKING! I bet Maneo does not stroke out but pisses and moans about having to replace the tile. I know you're older but why did you not read the label! MS

Showdog, maybe contact a tile place near you and inquire. Tell them what you used and maybe they have a quick answer. I did find a website.....that maybe could help. www.findstone.comGood Luck!

I really hope you mean hydrochloric acid and not hydroflouric acid, that's lethal ( http://physchem.ox.ac.uk/MSDS/HY/hydrofluoric_acid.html)

Is granite acid resistant? Warning: There is one acid that will severely etch, pit and dull a polished granite surface. This acid is known as Hydrofluoric acid (HF) and is found in many rust removers. If you have experienced etching on granite surfaces, and you are using such a product, you may want to check the label and see if it contains Hydrofluoric acid. If it does, the granite may need to be repaired. http://www.housekeepingchannel.com/a_121-Removing_Stains_From_Stone_Tile_and_ConcreteRepair/Resurfacing: http://ourhouse.ninemsn.com.au/ourhouse/factsheets/db/makeovers/04/417.asp
