ZOMG!! The Audacity! Part II

I was informed by an associate that someone had made a full blown copy of my shop which I built prim by prims over a period of time. The individual who shall remain unnamed was never given my permission to duplicate my build! Furthermore, where did the textures come from? I sure didn't pass them out!

As far as I know, those textures are sitting in my inventory, less they be retreived using the ever popular SL Hack that inconsiderate people seem to use to steal skins, textures, and now we see...entire structures!

No matter how hard I try to be original and develop my own ideas here, there's always someone who does not have the creative ability to come up with their own ideas and steal others. If you are going to populate an entire island with my prefabs, fine...but have enough creativity to come up with your own G** Da*m Store!

No wait, those aren't my prefabs...when I right click on them, I am not even the creator anymore! WTF???!!

I said that my store is not for sale, that does NOT give you the right to hack, steal or otherwise use my textures without my permission and create it on your land. Just because you are not selling copies of it, does NOT make it right!

If you visit the location, you can look outside of the store and see all my textures on what appear to be my buildings stacked up like pancakes. Then when you visit my store you will see the original which were made by myself and are all done by original textures in PS.

I always saw these types of posts where people would complain about stuff like this. I now fully understand your pain and sympathize with you on a completely "real" level. If you are wondering, and before you ask, I have spoken with the individual and the structure was still standing when I made this post.

I don't think she is saying they are selling her items, it's that they copied her build, prim for prim, and the textures used in it. (I couldn't get many of the pics to load).

You can send a compliant to the Lindens with the evidence and links, but I haven't heard of one successful outcome from such an attempt.

Yes, that is correct. They have duplicated my builds. Visit the locations in-world and you will see exactly why am a in such protest.

Perhaps those SL users that are honest won't rent a booth in their store until they manage to build their own rather than copy yours.

Hey MadamG you came by and even gave me a non transfer texture after I bought copyable versions of all of your pre-fabs for sale and themed the whole sim (except the dance club) after your builds. I also bought every part of your photo studio and you provided great support for it. I guess when I would no longer assist you with your ISSUE you decided today that you took offense. How convenient.

Some people just need to grow a brain.

First of all, I never came by anywhere and gave you anything. Secondly, I have not seen one of my prefabs with me as the creator. They all appear to be created by someone else! But the same exact textures and floorplans. So it appears that they have been re-built as copies.

The only way I would have given you a texture for any reason would be if you had said that you messed up a prefab and wanted to have the texture to fix it. I do not just pass around my textures like candy for irresponsible people to use and build an entire sim!!!

Why would I give you my textures to duplicate my own shop and the buildings I worked so hard at creating? That'd be just plain stupid. And speaking of attention, it looks more like you are the one who needed attention by re-creating my builds. The audacity you have and the general nerve to post here and tell me that I am in need of forum attention when YOU are the one who blatantly copied my work!? Well I guess I got YOUR attention didn't I? So did those AR's I filed against those bulds. That should get your attention as well.

Besides, that's what the forums are for...to get attention for subjects and things that you want to bring attnention to. So yes! I was in need of forum attention. And I got it! Thanks!

P.S. If you want to be a creative genius, go buy Photoshop and create your own textures.

Whatever "issue' you are referring must be a part of that imaginary world you are building over there. If I had an "issue" I would not go to you for assistance due to the fact that you:

1. Are not on my SL friends list
   
2. Are not on my RL friends list

You have somehow blatanly used my textures and recreated my structures. You must have spent a lot of time in my store to do that... So not only did you decide to recreate my shop without my permission, but you were calculating at it as well.

You did give me a non-transfer texture from your pre-fab. You gave it to me on May 23rd - Its entitled: Brick 008 and it says the creator is Drift Monde. Remember now? When you came by two days ago to ask a favor you said it was a nice build. If you had issue you should have said something to me then. You did ask me where I got the red and I told you who gave it to me on a prim, months ago. You said as long as I wasnt selling it it was ok. I have no products for sale anywhere so thats not a issue. You are just trying to 'punish' me for not involving myself in your personal problems. I am not at all concerned about any of this. Your outrage is not based on artistic integrity at all. Tell your 'supporters' what your real problem is. Perhaps not so much suport after they know. Bye Bye.

The Texture Brick 008 is not even one of the textures that you have perched up on your copied buildings and was not created by myslef. There are several OTHER TEXTURES WHICH I CREATED THAT YOU ARE USING WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! DON'T GO PLAYING GAMES IN THESE FORUMS WITH ME. YOU KNOW FULL WELL WHAT TEXTURES I AM TALKING ABOUT. THAT BRICK TEXTURE IS NOT THE ISSUE - and I never even saw the brick texture on you land. So you can squash that.

The few converstaions I have had with you have never been anything close to what you describe. If I wanted to go and violate the TOS by posting up the exact conversation - I would. That would be great for you, then you could get me in trouble too huh? Naaahhhh I'll pass.

Rememebr, I did not name your name - YOU DID. So don't go getting all upset just because you have exposed yourself. I have allowed your "architecture" to stand for long enough and it's just time I stood up for myself. Perhaps if you'd have taken it down on request we wouldn't be here.

Why would she say anything about a brick texture that was not yours? I take it that those are not the textures that you are talking about? That whole bigruntogetherparagraph does not excuse or justify stealing someone else's textures and builds. I'd be willing to bet if she put her mind to it, she could come up with something just as nice for her land or island.

I saw the 2 buildings and yes. They were obviously copied and yes, the person who did it must have spent a lot of time in MadamG's store looking at the architecture. When I see something I like, I don't take snapshots of it and rereate it, I may take 1 snapshot to rememebr it, but I use it as a source of inspiration to make something unique...not an exact copy.

Seems like there's 2 kinds in SL, those who create and those who copy.

Also, the use of paragraphs blady are more easy on the eyes. Please try to use them. Paragraphs are our friends. I wish you the best blady, but I hope you reconsider the structures on your land. MadamG seems to have a valid complaint whether you obtained the textures legally or not. Did she also hand you her shop in a box too? Highly unlikely.

Hell, I take things as INSPIRATION. Building a new gazebo. yes I like some style, but I make it my own variation..directly copying is just sad.

So . . . If you ignore the excuses and the red herrings in that paragraph . . . what your saying is . . . that you did it?

This is a private dispute, and sould be resolved in private as per forum guidelines. I'm locking the thread as to promote it's resolution in private.

Oh and from my view of the screen shots, the only thing that looks like a direct lift is the red tinted wood floor; which i believe is based on a publicly available wood texture.

As to the other textures, they are just good copies; personaly i like the darker lighting in the copy better.
