I finally made it! Today I'm a year old. It's odd, sometimes I feel like I've been in SL longer and then other times I feel like it went by fast. I am an SL addict. I admit it. I love Second Life and everything it has to offer (almost everthing).

When I first started I was a complete n00b. I had never played in any online community game. There was so much for me to learn. The lingo, the controls, the etiquette were all just the beginning. I was fortunate enough to meet a resident who had only started a couple weeks before me that was already so eager to help me. Elphy, I will never forget you.

I started out like most new residents dancing in a few clubs to meet people like the Wet Spot and the Flame, where I met wonderful residents like annie Lily, Barbii Electric and one of the best DJ's in SL Dominque Bauer, just to name a few. Although the past year we all have gone our seperate ways..it was those residents that made a first impression and that is why I'm still here.

I remember going to the ever so popular trivia events...my fav was Mae West. I was always so mezmorized by her Spider Av and her welcoming personality. Unfortunately, it didn't take me long to stop going to trivia events because I just could not type fast enough. Some of you are speed typers OWN those Trivia events!

A bunch of us newbies heard about this thing called "First Land". This is where we go to the website and put our name and what land rating we preferred. Then within a few weeks we would get a message that our first 512m2 was ready for purchase. This was when the snow sims were only a month old and this is where everone was getting their first land. I was so excited when a Linden messaged me IW that my 512 was ready. I quickly flew there and thought that was the coolest. My very own land. I started throwing all my stuff out onto the property and quickly discovered there was this thing called a prim limit! Fortunately for me at the time snow land was selling for 5 to 6k for 512. Crazy high price I know but that's how it was. I made quite a profit and ended up buying a 2048m2 in Tan. I've made several moves since then, everytime a new type of land was built, I would sell and move. I love change. Also, I can't forget to mention that I was temporarily staying at Tiger Crossings Apts. It was for free if there were any available. Thank you Tiger!!

It wasn't long before I caught the building bug and started attempting building. I thought my builds were the shit until I got a newer computer with a much better vid card and OMG! Seriously, I almost quit. My textures were all streaked and fighting each other. The prims didn't line up. Then I went exploring and saw builds by creative residents like Lordfly, Aimee and Cubey just to name a few. I know I should have been inspired to do better but I realized that wasn't my thing.

Wow, I just realized how long this already is. I dont' have any great accomplishments in SL except having made alot of friends including the Lindens. They are really great people and very approachable. I don't care what anyone says. I also am a great contributor to the SL economy buy shamelessly shopping everyday! I'm a shopoholic **sobs**. I am grateful to all the wonderful people who've I've met and developed great friendships with along the way. All of you have made my SL experience an overall good one. To all those that have devoloped themed sims, gadgets, clothes, animations and weapons **giggles** have also made my SL experience wonderful beyond words.

My advice to new members would be to don't give up and remember that everyone was a n00b once too. Don't be afraid to approach older residents, MOST of them are very helpful and always willing to help a new resident in some way.

Well that's my reflection and thoughts on my first year...there is alot more I would like to say, however, I'm really not a big fan of incredibly long posts. **cringes** Thank you for reading and I look forward to year two.

Hugs MJ!! Happy one year birthday in SL! I remember when we met. We were so crazzzzy!!!! You were, and are, one of my favorite people. You are always kind and caring and lotssss of fun. We had some great times at The Wet Spot didn't we? : D Its wierd to look back over a year and remember how it all started.
