Maerl, there is a "hacked Godmode" on the 1.12 preview under Debug, which has neatly short-circuited the one for sale. The map griefer refers to the ability in Godmode to map-track anyone. The camera is released from its constraints, too.

One person has claimed to me they were also able to edit land they didn't own, and to remove themselves from the ban list on land, although neither of these changes persisted.

You can change them clientside, but the moment you click something else in the About Land window, they revert back. Nothing destructive can be done with this tool, nor can you make serverside changes.

Do liaisons have functioning God Mode?
Are there different statuses of Linden that have different functions enabled?
Are there other sneaky things the Lindens have other than God Mode?

AFAIK, they ignore permissions and they're invisible to sensors. And there's that whole "unlimited L$" thing of course..

From: Eddy Stryker Does any of this affect you in any way? It has been said many times that a landowner should not ask a liaison to move an object that protrudes on their property but has it's root prim outside their property because liaisons can't do that. God Mode appears to have options that would allow them to do that. I received an answer to to this question about God Mode for liaisons in Second Life Answers. Liaisons do have full God Mode, which I think means they actually can move the objects they are said to not be able to they just aren't supposed to. I ask questions because I want to know the answers. I don't have to have some reason like financial gain or the desire to bend some rules. I like to know stuff. Does my asking the questions affect you in some way?

God Mode appears to have options that would allow them to do that. I expect it's exactly the same for them as it is in any "systems administration" type of job -they've technically got the power to do anything, but what they can actually use it for is very, very restricted. They can do it, but only in the same way that the guy or gal who looks after the computer room at your office "can" give you a pay rise by editing the personnel database. I do agree there should be a policy on link protrusion but I think it's a bit mean to claim they're misleading you (if that's what you meant)
