My Public Service Announcement

I have come to the realization that I only have enough attention span to read a post that is about the length of my hand.

I feel if you can't get to the point, and be concise about it then maybe you haven't really thought all the way through about your forum post and while I don't have a problem with collaborative thinking, please dear god if I have to scroll my mouse wheel three times to get to the bottom of whatever you are going on about it's just too long.

I second that!

What about threads? There are many threads with contributors that have enough posts combined to be taller than many houses. How do you deal with those? At what point does it lose your interest? Do you have to read an entire post within hand lenght to know you wasted your time?

Thank god i got here early or i would never have been able to reply.
Once you read the first ten posts or so they seem to just clone themselves.Everyone must have the same problem, they jump right to the bottom and post what they want to say to the starter.
If a thread has more than a page or two of posts, i won't even comment. Who's gonna read all that mess before getting to mine?

Good question Loki.

It is a similar issue but it gets different limit criteria. Some threads do get pretty ridiculous and deep inside they probably have gone off the original point and should have been separated.

Thread reading tolerance is between 3-6 pages, if the thread when opened is so large and exceeds the page limit of my attention span, I'll read maybe the first two pages and skip a few pages, pick a random post to read and or go straight to the end.

Bottom line is I have more tolerance for a longer thread, than a long post.

I'm a big fan of the old adage, "A picture is worth 1000 words", and tend to use them a lot to express myself, or when being pissed off at the length of posts.

Is that thing related to Bat Boy?
