Hola!
Just a heads up- I've gotten some suprised IMs over the last few days, after cleaning out my contact list. Mostly along the lines of "WHY ARENT WE FRIENDS ANYMORE??"

Relax. It's nothing personal, I am in the final stages of a large project and needed to be able to actually USE my contact list to see when a certain group of people are online and off. Considering I hadnt deleted any cards in the more than two years i've been here, that list was pretty clotted.
If I see you regularly in game, we will trade again soon. :)

PS: LL, what were you thinking, renaming calling cards to friendship? *fish smack*

If you go right-click more on a person, you'll find that we still have calling cards.

I wish we could toggle certain folders to alert us when people are online/offline.

Ah well! If wishes were fishes, I'd .. have a lot of fishes.

oh yes. i saw the calling cards- I had to delete all those too. which apparently exist in a completely different space/time from our friends list, as I had to purge a folder full of calling cards, AND a glutted Friends list.
Byproduct of all our calling cards getting converted automatically to Friends when that change was made, I assume...
Ps: LL, that was another really inconvieniently silly decision.

You probably are already aware of this, but you could have made a folder and transfered/copied the cards of those people on your friend's list that were involved with that project to that folder. Then used said folder both to check on their online status as well as IM as a group in world or off line.

Calling cards are a handy way to break up a large (or even glutted) friend's list in to smaller working groups, be they for projects or various social circles.

Yeah, I agree.

I find the social annoyance of having to explain to people difference between friends and calling cards is a bit much, so I just accept everything and live with the fact that the online alert is not useful.

I have people I'd consider friends who just give out calling cards and vice versa. It's all too much for little ol' me, I guess, so I just file into a folder and forget.

Just reassuring those who may have noticed the change and been concerned that nothing is amiss, Nephi has simply fallen into another project- hole. :o
