Thank you musicians, and announcing The SL Philly Live Music Fest, March 25th!

I wanted to publically thank all musicians and enthusiasts who got in touch with me over the past few weeks when I put out a call for musicians. We've managed to get a good line up started, and can now make it official!

The first ever Second Life mixed-reality concert will be held March 25th, 2006, from 6-9pm EST in Philadelphia, PA! As a thank you to the entire Second Life community, ADMISSION AND DRINKS WILL BE FREE!

Performing live will be:

Astrin Few
Flaming Moe
and Foxyflwr Cure

You can catch these great talents around SL several times a week playing live, and now we're going to bring them together in RL for a concert. The concert will be held at Emerald City in Philadelphia, and will be streamed in world at the Clover Auditorium (which can hold 160 people).

We'll have a few guests of honor present, including Pathfinder and Bub Linden!

Special thanks to Nethermind Bliss and Astrin Few for helping organize this event, and to Server Cave and Electric Sheep Company for help in sponsorship and streaming! Please contact Nethermind, FlipperPA, or Astrin to join the in-world group, which will be used for more frequent communications. We hope as many of you can make it to Philadelphia to join us for the celebration; I look forward to meeting you, and this invitation is extended to anyone with a Second Life account, and their friends! That's the problem with categories, heh. I figured this would appeal to the "General Population", and its more of an RL event than a simple meet-up. And let's face it, Notices and Well Wishes should be renamed, "Happy Birthday and/or I'm out of here."

very kool sounds like a really fun night i ahve heard all 3 of the folks sing and i am looking foward to hearting them live !

as did i actually.. that's why i used the "redirect link" option to be left inGeneral. it is something of wide interest, but does belong in either Events, RL Meet Ups, or Notices.. Events seems more in-world centric.. RL Meet Ups could have beena mtach, but i felt it was more of a notice.

the more threads that are moved here and the moer it's used for a variety of Notices, the less it becomes the sole domain of Birthdays and I'm Leaving threads. i'm seeing a new horizon developing in these forums as a side effect of the ResMod program.. it seems a wider variety of forums are experiencing increased traffic due to the higher amount of instances of moved threads to these other forums.

(wow.. i REALLY do need to learn brevity, don't i?)

I hate when threads get moved here because I almost never read this forum unless the thread title blurb next to the name of the forum looks interesting.

to be perfectly honest, i hated moving it here for that reason.

but, i have to do what i have to do..


on a more On Topic note, is there a possibility this will become a regular event? if so, should it have an (un)official name? hey, maybe we could scramble to make some badges.. LOL. just kidding.. hehe. (although i was wondering what it would cost for me to have a bunch of buttons made up for those attending)

I wish they would have just left "Notices and Well Wishes" part of General proper. I think originally I was for the change, but now I realize how much the daily "Happy B-day" threads helped push the drama crap off the front page faster!

As for being back on topic, Cybin, it'll be awesome to see you again, and I'll have more time to hang this time! We're making sure to get all of our ducks in a row WAY in advance, and this kind of event doesn't require the same insane level of planning that SLCC does!
