I was just wondering if sharing an account (or password) was a punishable offense. There was a very well known land baron that I was talking to, but they said that the account owner was not there, and it was their friend on the account. I have talked to an in-world Liaison, they said it was not punishable, it was just to put LL in the clear incase something happens. Yet, in the TOS, it states:

You are not allowed to ever disclose your password to another person.
Please clarify this.

Also, my friend requested an account to be transfered to me. We emailed LL, but they said no. I was wondering under what circumstances are account transfers allowed? (I.E. A very well know land baron buying accounts, or a friend leaving and wanting to give their account to someone.)

Please don't say it depends on each situation, because I know that. I would like some examples or circumstance when both of the are/are not allowed.

Those two really go together. :) I'll give a hypothetical example: say you share your password with a "friend", and then they login and sack your account, deleting your avatar, trashing your inventory, etc. Or you even transferred an account to someone and decide you want it back later.

In which case, we can't help you and we're not responsible for the losses you unfortunately but unwisely incurred. We have to state it very firmly as a precaution: we know realistically we can't stop people, nor are we out to, but those are the consequences should misfortune arise.

So, general policy: under no circumstances are account transfers allowed--again, there's no technical blocks stopping you, but it's totally at your own risk, unsupported, etc.
