Roughly 3,300,000 L$ was bought on the GOM yesterday. That's incredible!

I am continually amazed at the over all amount of money spent in Second Life, watching the front page to see the numbers they're getting from apparently the day before. Now to see that on GOM yesterday, that's over Ten Thousand USD... it's just incredable.

Yes, it's very incredible.. especially considering that GOM is only a fraction of the economy.

The figures on the front page appear to be made up. They are the same every day - people have plotted graphs...

I don't think they are made up.

I think they're based on a past history of the economy and if you look at the economy reports they are actually an underestimation of the economy.

They are, at best, a snapshot of the most money done ever in SL during a single day. The number is then repeated every day. It's meant to bring in new people.

What happened to the origional topic of this thread? I think it's strange that doom and gloom threads get many pages of action when someone drops a bunch of cheap L$ on the market, but when the rebound gets posted on we're so quick to change the subject and spin the thread off to something on the SL home page. :)

I think it's great that these blocks are nearly gone so quickly and the L$ is already trading at nearly 3.9 again. :)

I think SL has a very significant economy which those numbers convey rather well.

I'm not sure worrying about the details is really necessary in this case .. If you want the details I think they're online, you just need to click around in the menus above.

Unfortunately, some always see the glass as broken...

I must say, this is some of the worst "proof" that I have ever seen. The most obvious thing is that the graph is not the same every day. Look at the end of the plotted time. Also, it would be much better if you could see what the peak value for each day, while they seem to close to the same about of transactions, they don't look to be exact. I would consider this evidence that it may not be 100% right, but this is not proof of that.
