An End of Sim Rating Price Disparity Approaching?

I am observing something very interesting when I trade land, something that I thought would have happened a lot earlier.

I've observed lately that gap between Mature and PG land prices is starting to close. A lot of players fed up with clubs, malls, and lag are voicing their desire to me for swaths of remote pg land. not too remote, but just not next to a hub.

I have considered I might be mistaking a rise in land prices with my own conclusion because I've been concentrating on PG lately by chance of what I manage to purchase. But I am biased since I have always favoured PG for this very reason.

Have other players observed this trend or am I just drawing conclusions from my bias?

Very interesting observation.

I've actually mostly forgotten about PG/Mature land, as I can't keep track of which is which. But yes, Mature land is almost always home to clubs and casinos.

Interesting.

Maybe all LLab has to do is just make a huge subcontinent of PG sims to make a residential community?

PG sims to make a residential community?

Only problem with that is that there's a whole lotta lovin' going on in personal residences too and that would probably throw them into the mature category.

My personal preference has always been mature and remote.

There used to be a time you wouldn't find me in a PG sim for longer than 15 mins unless I was doing a mentor event, or helping a friend on something important.

Now I'm actually getting used to some of the differences. Mainly due to feedback from people that attend my events and shops. Which all qualify for PG. For example, I did the originals auction in a mature area in case someone wanted to display a piece of adult artwork (such as a sculpture or whatever), but I remember having a few leave one event because of guests who showed up naked. While the naked guests didn't say anything, just stood in the back, I understand it was upseting to this person, even if most there did not care.

So I vowed to myself to try and keep this in mind when setting up events, and to do duel ones in the different settings, so that I can provide for as many as possible. This is just one example, and I have others that have got me spending more time in PG lands.

At this point, PG land is almost equal in value as Mature land. At least to me. :)

PG land will never be equal in value to Mature land for me, because PG land is far more encumbered by ridiculous restrictions on freedom that are unnecessary in an adult society. I don't particularly approve of a lot of what goes on, but when I do witness it, I'm not irreparably harmed by it.

For me, PG << M.

Well, given how many people around me cyber... I'd say moving into a PG sim didn't make much of a difference. Once I even caught a couple of idiots screwing right outside my house.

I know people who wouldnt mind living on PG land to avoid clubs o.o *cough* and also other prim script structures however I had a friend who was just doing her Mature thing in her PG home and was reported cause her neighbore could see, he basically manuvered his camera into her home and took pics and sent them in *giggles* perv anywho he did it cause he wanted to buy her land and she wouldnt sell but those things go on non-the less. Many beginning players go for mature cause face it people go through SL phases and the first being to hump everything in site so they go for mature but PG is under estimated.

I've observed lately that gap between Mature and PG land prices is starting to close.

Click Find, Land, and click the "for sale" option. Hmmm . . how many mature plots show up in the midst of the PG? Well, without looking I would imagine some 50 or more PG plots preceed ANY mature plots in price.

Now I don't proclaim to be a math wizard, but if you carry the one, mature is still more expensive to buy. Now is the gap closing in comparison to what it was? What it was WHEN? Maybe, who knows, but there is still a gap, nonetheless.

Bottom line, the vast majority of people still prefer to buy and build (especially dwellings) in mature land. I'm not knocking PG - it most certainly has its place in SL, and it is nice to be able to attend events in areas without mature propaganda and naked people occasionally. There are certainly no shortage of mature plots for sale that are no where near nightclubs and casinos, which means that although supply is not limited, demand is still high - which is reflected in the $6 - $10/m2 prices. You can buy NICE PG land at $3 - $4 per m2. I challenge you to find mature for sale on the open market for that - even PRIM land.

No, I believe mature continues to have its allure. If you want to live in Pleasantville, play Toontown.

Although Jauani, I would highly encourage you to continue to buy up all the PG in the area and stay out of mature - you're probably right, you know :D
