A few months ago, the Lindens moved Rausch sandbox away from Jessie. (It used to be 2 sims away from Jessie.) I would like to suggest that Rausch be moved back to its old location so that there can be more Jessie/Rausch interaction. The Blue/Red Team and the Weapons testing sims can be moved to be close to Rausch as there seems to be enough space to hold them all.

Morning Apollo,
This may be better discussed in Feature Suggestions; The original discussion that brought Rausch out of the mainland was based on a Discussion in Feature Feedback. You're welcome to re-post in Suggestions, but look over that thread first. *waves* :link: _____________________

Bad idea. Putting combat simulators on the mainland increases the odds of stray bullets and other collateral damage. It's better for landowners not to have such a crazy set of sims on their borders and it's better for me, if I have a new product to test, not to have to worry about a wayward projectile.

Moving Rausch back to Original Location - Excellent Idea
02-16-2006 21:00
I think the stray bullets issue can be solved partly by leaving the test sim where it is. The Rausch sim was very close to Jessie before and that made it more convenient to go between the two sims. Maybe the Lindens can give landowners an option to let weapons have effects on their property or not. If a user shoots a person in the non-pvp sections, he can be reported, so I think the issue of stray bullets can be solved by suspensions, warnings etc.

I use to live in Dore, I had an island 200 meters in the air. For those of you who remember the old welcome area remember the shooting range. My island would reguraly get hit by stray bullets and occasionaly so would I. The point is, i won't want to have a home anywhere near Rausch. IMHO it would be a much better idea to move Jessie to Rausch. I'm sure the surrounding property values will go up.

Moving Rausch back to Original Location

There were never that many properties near to Rausch anyway before it moved and there aren't many near to Jessie. People buy property in Jessie too and the location is good, people who bought near Jessie, knew they were buying near Jessie.

I ENDORSE THIS PRODUCT AND/OR SERVICE. Stick a combat-enabled ocean sim in between, have naval battles. I don't think that idea will "float". |

There were never that many properties near to Rausch anyway before it moved and there aren't many near to Jessie. People buy property in Jessie too and the location is good, people who bought near Jessie, knew they were buying near Jessie. That is not true. I owned the land in Clyde that was on the edge before they put in Rausch. It was annoying to have my propery littered with crap I couldn't always delete or return to owner. And it was not fun being shot at repeatedly. Pepplar Sklar, cua Curie and Drift Monde owned property there too (cua and Drift still do) and we were never given warning that Rausch was being put there. Many players in Rausch would use the edge of Clyde to hide out from their oponents in Rausch. It was not fun. |
