* Land in estates can no longer be set for sale.
* You cannot buy a parcel for L$0 unless you are the authorized buyer.
* You cannot find a L$0 parcel in the directory unless you are the authorized buyer.
* Find places will only return visible land.

That seems to be a step in the right direction, but hmmm... I reckon I've seen some Residents who are transferring land to friends through some mutual exchange sell it for other low prices, like L$1 (as an example).

I'm sure I've missed something obvious. But I honestly don't know what this is so I'm forced to ask the stupid question, "what land isn't visible?" :D

I feel really stupid asking this question, but it's bugging me. Somebody please explain this. LOL :o

They aren't intending to stop the exchange of land for free or for low costs. They're trying to eliminate it as a means of free (and misleading) advertisement. Now, only the person who is able to buy the L$0 land will actually see the land on the land sale tab. We won't be able to see it. That's my interpretation, at least.

Some privately owned, non-mainland sims are truly private. They are not visible to the rest of us.

Yeah, I was pointing to something lateral -- land-snatchers. ;)

What is funny is that SL now has this great new website to be very appealing and inviting to newcomers. So then they download the free trial and can't get in. Makes me wonder how many potential customers are being lost due to these log-in issues.

Now with that being said....LL LET ME IN!!!!!

Adding this functionality without even a place on the website to advertise rentable land indicates to me that buying large amounds of land and islands in SecondLife is a risk proposition.

If there is to be liquidity and land management, I'm going to let SL do it themselves personally because they are clearly not focused on making it easy for people to rent land to other users.

So, Zoned areas and larged managed communities will now be out of the question until Lindenlabs makes a very strong move in a direction which shows they support this concept.

Everything having to do with land is a risk here blaze. What are you really asking for?

You were among those complaining about the listing of land in this fashion -- complaining by drawing the Lindens attention to it to see if they'd give you a read-out enabling you and others to do it, and they were deliberately vague.

Now, they've closed off that loophole, without adding a filtrable Land Offerings list that could be searched for RENTAL or other terms.

I think several people will go on zoning and managing communities without the Lindens. I certainly hope to continue what I do and I figure sooner or later they will have to provide more advertising solutions and options.
