Economics forum so i guess this is where it goes, hehe. Question is how profitable are casinos? How many are there? Reason im asking is that i may be starting a new project soon, but i need to do some research first. Its casino related but its not going to be a casino.

Profitability totally depends on how many gamblers you are able to get to part with their money on a regular basis. It is no easy task, the competition in the gambling industry is brutal. Profit is very good if you are able to pull it off. IMO sales are an ever better profit maker, as you get to keep 100% of the money collected. A well run place has multiple sources to derive profit from.

As SL is dotted and besotted with gambling dens, the competition must be really fierce, so much so that it probably makes very little if any money. If it did, I'd probably put up a few slot machines myself.

I like what Moonshine has. If I ever open a business in SL it will be something like that. A large mall, with a casino inside. Lots of sources from which to derive income. It's what we in the financial planning business call a "system".
