How is First Land being released since the whole sim only auctions have taken effect?

It seems to also be coming out mostly in whole sims. :)

Whole sims of 512's? Or a section of 512's within the new sims as before?

So, LL has adopted a new distribution system for First Land. I'm guessing it is adequately accomodating new members since they haven't been posting here in search of it. How's this working out? I'd be interested in hearing from any new players who'd care to comment on their experience.

What's the resale interest like? Any land dealers out there buying any? Have any of these sims been designated PG?

They seem to be a mix of PG and Mature, but I was completely uninterested in buying land in a sim with only other newbies - not to mention they are all pretty much flat, tropical land from what I can see. (Not my kind of place.) I have a friend who did get a lot in a newbie sim. The lot next to him flipped twice pretty quickly and is for sale again. I was lucky enough to find what I consider a good lot in a great existing sim, so first land lots still are being done occasionally in older sims.

Thanks, Morgana. It was my understanding that released land would be utilized as First Land plots so that is likely how you came across your plot. Congrats on your find. Other than if waiting for a particuliar type of lot as you did, has the overall availability kept up with the demand? There was a shortage not too long ago that was looking to be a somewhat negative experience for the new user. Have you noticed if there is much buying out the neighbor to increase one's land size in your friends sim?

Yes, mine does seem to be a released lot and that is really the only way it makes sense to have first land in an older sim.

The availability has changed in the three or four weeks I have been here. I joined at the tail of the free signup promotion for SL's second anniversary planning to spend $0 on SL. When someone showed me how to look for first land, there was none available for the first couple days - so it was likely just before they started the newbie sims. Then there was a flood of stuff in the newbie sims. Right now there is a ton of land as far as I can see.

When there was no land - and then no land that really appealed to me - I felt no desire to go premium and spend money on SL. It was negative for me only in that I wondered if they really did "first land", and I was figuring out that to build and leave something up, I needed land. I do remember seeing posts in the forum about it. A few days later, when I found the lot I really liked, I wavered for a day or so and then took the plunge. Now I am an addict, who will be tiering up when my first month is up. :)

I just went out to my friend's sim. It looks to be a mix of "first land" lots. At least I seem to remember only 512 lots before.
