This post - and others similar to it - imply that the scripts are tied to land ownership.
No. I made no mention that the $100/mo in tier costs were
tied to land ownership in any way.
If LL wants to get $200/mo for the entire use of a server, which
they do right now when you get a full sim (not counting any
LindenLand alotment), then we can say that as long as they
get $100/mo for 50% of the server it should not matter if
you "own land" or not, right?
If LL is happy with $100/mo for you to rent 50% of a CPU
but I don't need 32,000 m2 land then why should I be forced
to buy LAND? Perhaps I'd rather my 50% of a cpu go towards
the processing power needed to have my bling, anim overrides,
and other fun stuff worn on my AV. And I'd like to have that
processing power that I'm renting from LL available to my AV
no matter which club I'm in.
If it was MY 50% of "some other" CPU handling all my goodies,
the all those goodies would not be a drain on the CPU responsible
for managing the club.. and no lag for them or the others.
I understand some people are saying "it can't be done",
but perhaps if more people spent time focusing on the
challenge and put brainpower toward a solution, then perhaps
we COULD come up with a way so that 2 or 3 CPUs could
work together to handle the load of 1 sim, or find a way that
people could rent cpu power for their AV which they could
use for their AV anywhere on the grid.

Under the "get what you pay for model" described above, I imagine the lifetime accounts would end up with no scripting capabilities at all.
LL can handle lifetime accounts however they'd like.
Perhaps they would give away lifetime account that
are able to use 10% or a CPUs resources at any given
time. If the timetimer wants more.. they are welcome
to rent more CPU power above and beyond what their
lifetime account offers.

No - I don't like the proposal. Better it be a self-regulating system - with reports of abuse when necessary - then some heavy handed central regulatory system.
Yes... because self-regulating systems work so well!
"Please only take 1 gold nugget"
"Please dont send tons of spam"
"Please dont drink and drive"
Many people do follow the rules, but some don't.
If there was a system in place where your $100/mo tier gave
you a hard limit of 50% CPU usage, then everyone understand
that limit, and there's no need for abuse reporting because no
one COULD go over their limit if they tried. It would not be
so heavy-handed.... if someone wanted more, they just move
up to the next tier.... allowing them more CPU usage.
Again... I hear some people say "this method can't be done".
Perhaps not with the way things are now... but doesn't this
alternative offer enough attractiveness that we should at least
put more brainpower toward seeing if there IS some way it
could be worked out?
