Dwell earnings examples?

Ok, I've read all about Dwell and how it's not worth it, and the complicated formula, etc. etc., but can anyone give me some actual examples of what Dwell pays at the moment, once you start getting into higher Dwell scores?

Yes, I know it's not fixed, and might change/disappear/explode tomorrow, I'm just trying to get a rough idea of what a Dwell score (lets use examples of 500, 1000 and 5000) pay at the moment.

TIA, BB

A single point of dwell is worth nothing.

The numbers (dwell score) only has meaning when compared with everyone elses.

So you could have 3 dwell for your land today and because yours was the only land visited by anyone, you get the whole pot... then tomorrow you could have 1000 dwell and get no money (or next to none) because everyone who visited you then went off to spend 24 hours at a charity bash in another sim...

You can't calculate it, basically.

I know you can't calculate it, I'm just looking for some examples, of what people currently earn for particular Dwell scores so that I have a vague ish rough ballpark estimate of what I could possibly maybe earn at some point with a particular Dwell score, if the planets are correctly aligned...

Sorry, my question is clearly badly put, let me rephrase it:

Is anyone who earns 'higher' dwell payments prepared to share any information about their Dwell scores and the associated earnings they've had from those scores in recent history? If you are but would prefer to keep it private I'd appreciate an IM.

Thanks, BB

I'd be happy to share. Siobhan is absolutely correct...it tends to fluctuate, so its very difficult to predict. Myself, I tend to drift between middle, to end, to off the favorite places list, with an average dwell around 5000.

Our record dwell is about 10000, which on that particular day put us at #3 or #4. If I remember correctly, I got something like L$350 for that day of dwell.

When my dwell is 5000, I tend to get approxomately between L$100 - L$150 per day. But your mileage may vary. I used to say divide your base dwell number by 50, and thats roughly what you'll get in $L, but that can be wildly inaccurate.

Hope this helps!

Travis, thank you :) those numbers are the total amount earned from the land right, not just your share of a group payout?

Yep - that's correct. My land isn't group owned - just me.

I have a question concerning dwell.. How many dwell points are given per avatar, and how the hell do people get 30k dwell?

It might be helpful to look at all the other posts on dwell using the search function. There have been some really heated, long, drawn-out posts on dwell!

I can tell you that even if you knock yourself out, have your friends, your alts, your neighbours park on your land to try to generate dwell, and hold events every other night of the week to which 30-40 people come for 2 hours, let's say, you will still find yourself looking at say, $30-40 worth of dwell per person in a group of say, 6, with the land, say, showing 1250 dwell points.

And I want to thank Lisse for pointing out yet another quirk in this really hard-to-understand and annoying system of dwell. The pot changes every night -- sure. But when people say the formula changes every night, they evidently mean that not only the numbers in a fixed formula change, the *formula itself changes*. That is, if the system sees there are 1000 people going to 20 charity events instead of 500 going to 10 clubs, it's not just the individual figures in the formula that change, the entire formula itself changes -- but that's the mystery the Lindens won't reveal.

each avatar is given 1 dwell point per day. This point is then given to the owner of the land they spend 5 mins on. (if only online for 5 mins, if online longer, and visited more place that 1 point is divided between each place where that avie spent 5 mins or longer.)

Now, how much L is 1 dwell point worth i have no idea, but i did test this on my own land.

I had my alt avie sit on my land and only my land for 7 mins, then log off. I was given 2 L
for every day i did that. It was always 2 L. ??? does that mean 1 dwell point is worth 2 L/?

if thats so, i don't know how anyone could get 30K on dwell.

I dont think that it is only 1 dwell point, we have to be allowed more than that, other wise people wouldnt have 30,000+ dwell points.

I am not concerned about the $$$ received, I am referring to dwell points not dollars, thanks though.

I don't have any stores or run any events in my land.

My daily dwell fluctuates between 500-1000

My daily dwell payments between L$ 20-40

And another question... How is the INDIVIDUAL dwell leader stat determined?
Is that your cut on dwell for properties you have an interest on?

Dwell is a joke... You'd make more money asking for handouts than from dwell...
