Oke, 50% or more of Lag comes form attachments and people will never think about it :/, well now I propose that a lsl code is made and a Estate Tool option as added I propose

Estate Tools
-Find Top Attached Scirpts List, this having Name of the agent and vector of their loctain
-Find Top Attached Prims List, this having their Name of the agent and the vector of their loctain
LSL
-fuction: llFindScirptTime(void), it will show all the total and the amount of each scirpt in the adult or child prim

with this it will help scirptors without the estate tools to make less laggy scirpts and make better experance for all

with the Estate Tools added We can pin point who is REALLY makin this lag and makes it much more fixable :)

I have worked with sims to reduce lag. Examining stats and manipulation conditions we have been able to pin point many problem areas.
Land owners must understand all scripts running on their land in order to improve the situation. I wish more land owners to understand how important script count is to user experience. And start focusing efforts in efficiency improvements for the interactivity and logging that scripts provide.
That being said, Ethan's observation is valid, most lag felt is caused by agent(you and me)/personal scripts. Many times individuals are unaware an attachment contains a script, other times they don't know how much it effects the world around them, or simply don't care.
It is good for more people to know about these issues, I will look at the proposal closer in hopes that it addresses the problem.
2cents: A set script priority, and a list of cycle time with marker would be nice. (ex. game scripts with a higher priority than a listen script in a color changing jewel toe ring, a diagnostic marker view with color variance markers to show script location and cycle time)

Sorry I would have to diagree... although the attachments are a valid problem pursay each partcel but the Major lag come from the inharent problems with the Dynamic Cacheing system.
This problem was brought up and discussed.

This would be abused just as the current tools are abused. I would not support it.

what about a way for an estate owner to shut off scripts in an attachment or a linked object by calling a special function over the object key?

Well it keeps the Sim Owner or Managers were the lag is truly coming form, this can also make scirpts less laggy without removeal of features of the product.. this would increase the quality of a Sler'd enjoyment, I know most of you don't like it when your Avatar is walking thought the ground form lag that is unknown...

When Many complain about lag this is one way to fix it.. for the Sim Owner two words I got to say "Private Sim" if they want to let their sim lag its up to them, they pay 1250USD to create the land and 195USD amonth to maintain it so having this open to their choice..

I bet out of every 250 users there is 1 out of that is extremely a Hog of Scirpt, Prim and Texture Time One user could walk right into a sim and lag or crash it baddy... I Now keep all Personal scirpts offline so I am not the one that is makin the lag...

Its a giving everything makes lag but Some Make too much lag like builds, this is why the mainland is so laggy in places :(
