Impeach Bush or XXX

How many of people have seen or heard of the Impeach Bush Signs? We are sick of people buying land next to ours and placing ugly billboards about nothing and setting the price of the land at ridiculous prices. Why cant we have a feature that turns off land of griefers or makes it invisible with out having to place walls around our properties? If we could "ALPHA" their objects as an option on their land. If we get this feature passed we can get rid of these "griefers" when it come to this issue. They decrease the value of our lands and they are just plain ugly. It takes one vote per person. I think there are enough people out there who are sick of these people thinking that they can sell their land the easy way by placing ugly signs!

This topic has been beaten to death on these forums in posts numbering in the thousands; I'm sorry that it has happened to you.

You can search these forums for the keyword "impeach" if you want to see all the detail. I think I can fairly summarize the result of the huge debate:

1. It's his land, he can do as he likes so long as it doesn't overhang your land or obstruct your free movement.
   
2. Most people agree that they are hideous to look at
   
3. People are pretty evenly divided upon whether it is "free speech" or "extortion"
   
4. Linden Lab has decided to take no action on the matter
   
5. A number of people have reported that polite requests to the signmaker are responded to with more signs, less polite requests receive even more signs
   
6. The technical solution you have proposed has been advanced many times, there is little general expectation that it will happen anytime soon

I hope that is a fair summation of a zillion posts, I'm sure someone will correct me if mistaken.

I can understand where you are coming from and I do feel that this has been beaten to death. The only problem is that nothing has been done to relieve the problem. If we can create a small check box that allows us the land owners to "Block" or make invisible lands that are annoying to us then maybe we can stop these grifers from trying to harass, extort, manipulate us land owners into buying their worthless lands. They made the mistake of buying land that has no value and they should learn to sell like the rest. I am not asking Lindens to remove naked pictures of guys or idiotic pictures of what they think of Bush. I just want Lindens to create an options for the surrounding land owner to block these griefers client side. Again I do understand the value of Freedom of Speech. We should be able to click a button and make it go away. Others will be able to see the signs if they wish. But for those of us who dont want to see it let us have our peace. DONT stand Idle and take the "well nothing can be done to them" answer, Stand up and tell lindens that enough grief is enough. We want our way, and I am sure that lindens value this idea also. Property sales will go up lands will be cleaned of ugly advertisents about nothingness and we will have a cleaner neighborhood. If this check is made then the client or land owner will only see the empty lot. Others who have not checked this item will still be able to see these signs. So Freedom of speech is once saved! So is a peacefull stroll through your back yard with out having to read about bush. "Lets beat this until its is forgotten. We still see the signs we dont want to see them. We believe in freedom of speech and we love it. We donot want to see the signs anymore. So we request yet again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again. Until something is done to rectify this. It will make both our lives easier Linden."
