If one has a murder/griefing count, he will come back with missing limbs after the ban, so that the guy will be tagged as a griefer, making him hard to be employed and recieve many dis-advantages in the SL community, because he is tagged as a griefer. So that many people won't grief to take the risk to be treat as a griefer anywhere. The more tiems he's banned, the more limbs he will lose.

While I started to make a snide comment about middle eastern punishment...

I figure it just easier to reply... hed just take out 10 seconds to make a new griefing alt that has all his limbs.

We already have people playing amputees and nonhumans using custom animations. They run into the problem that the AO isn't perfect so you get a merman's legs or a pirate's arm reappearing and vanishing as they move around and use scripted objects.

People would be griefing just to get rid of that problem. There would be a market for "griefer accounts".

(no, I'm not kidding)

credit cards

As a person who was told "you don't have enough funds in your bank to own a credit card, thankyou and goodbye" which was a load of cobblers anyway, it would have been impossible
for me to have got in here.

Wolfie! [still without a credit card]

Hmmm really not sure what a "load of cobblers" is... but I do feel for ya Wolfie. This is a touchy situation on both sides of the arguement. Ill be first to admit that the old system did keep a few good people out. Personally when first announced doing away with registraton requirements, I was on LL side. I thought all the doomsayers was making big deal out nothing. Sadly I wrong :/ I over estimated peoples abilities to play like they got sense.

On the upside, as many have posted there is ways around the requirments.

People in your situation are why I proposed a sponsorship system. The idea would be that you could get someone who has a paid account to sponsor you... it wouldn't cost them anything, and in fact if you later upgraded they'd get a bonus... but it would mean that LL would be able to hold someone responsible. This would keep griefers from being able to get dozens of alts, without keeping peoplelike you from getting a start in SL.

I have a tendency to feature suggest "more avatar decapitations" from time to time... but that is just a subset of my interests here.

lol read a web comic recently, imagine someone who griefed so much that the only thing left was the nose and he couldn't do anything.
yes and i agree, someone might think a avatar who lost one arm is cool, i think so actually :p
