Have you folks been considering charging to create an alt? Right now anyone can get multiple alts for free. If you did away with that not everyone would be willing to pay $9.99 on an alt. and if they are, well then- more money for you.

I don't see the point unless they restrict any unverified accounts from being made, which lowers the number of new users.
LL does log your IP and characters you've logged on. If someone with a decked out main account uses copybot on an alt and gets caught then ALL of that person's accounts get nuked.

See my question about "how far is LL willing to go to protect open registration" in the Linden Answer's forum, then explain why you think open registration is worth the inevitable false positives from this kind of draconian policy. |
