Wouldn't it be neat if, when the Lindens open up a new area on the mainland, we could auction for Sim names? Like, I could bid myself in to name a sim Lordfly, for instance. It'd be a good money sink/income getter for Llab, plus you'd be immortalized on the map in perpetuity  LF

Question though.
Wouldn't this be seen as adding to the cost of mainland sims versus the utility of a private island?
I ask because, as far as I know, private islands can have any name that conforms to PG (speech) guidelines.

I would think there'd have to be some sort of thematic overlay. For example, LL is going to put several new sims on the map... okey... so, they say this week's theme of the week is gonna be "Zoo Animals" or "Colors We Haven't Used Yet"! It would be a buffer against embarassments, serve to fortify a cherished tradition while adding on, and get creative imaginations going. Quite frankly, in Atoll up north, have they run out of moths yet? Like, I'd have a whole block named after Wu-Tang Clan. |

Would be cool if they did that with maybe 4-5 sims for the katrina relief fund or like charity's.
