Sweaty and smelly

wow.
That's a pretty farking stupid idea. How about we add drugs or food to create 'artificial' markets and demand streams too, eh? Idiot. Affectionately, Me |

"Preview for SL 1.7" forum is for discussions about testing. I'm moving this to the Feature Suggestions.

Maybe via some kind of anime-esque wavy-lines-above-head system? xD

If you're convinced you want to do this...

You could create two types of objects: one wearable particle generator that creates Pigpen (from Peanuts) dust clouds around the avatar, and one that generates a "shower," again probably using particles. The dust generator would have a timer or other triggers to determine how much dust and grunge it creates. The shower would reset the timer on the dust generator.
The nice thing about SL is that people can add all kinds of odd little features like this without requiring everyone else to live with them. ![]() neko _____________________

*ahem* speaking as a Second Skins Advanced User...
Uh... skins from Second Skin Labs are highly detailed, entirely customizable (especially if you fork over the dough for the ADVANCED versions) as they don't use your tattoo layers (voodoo of the simplest but most wonderful type). Second Skins in the female flavor, at least, come equipped with .. *ahem* ALL pertinant parts. LOL_____________________

Hygiene... next thing you know someone will request that we have to eat, pee, and spend 10 hours a day "skilling up." ![]() Too late: Prop: 249 - Avatar Eat Sleep and Exersize Again, I have no objection to people programming their avs to act like tamagotchi dolls. Not my cuppa tea, but whatever. Most of it can be done with scripts, and if people want to do it, go for it. Possibly there are some enhancements to SL that could allow more scripting of avs (e.g. to make them plumper or to add a tattoo layer of grunge or to make their hair stringier or give them bad posture or something). I support giving people the tools to enable this kind of system in SL. I don't support making everyone else have to use it, at all. neko _____________________

Uh. TSO anyone? Hygiene... next thing you know someone will request that we have to eat, pee, and spend 10 hours a day "skilling up." ![]() AMEN!!! Which is the exact reason why I walked away from my founders membership and fell in love with this game - NO forced socialization and having MOMMY <heh> hovering nearby telling me when I have to go to bed, eat and get my lazy ass up to go to work. Please for the sake of all inworld sanity do NOT bring the "need for green" into this. If you feel the urge to pee, load up TSO and stockpile all the comodes you can find and let 'er rip! _____________________

If you want to do this, script it.
It doesn't need to be a game feature. LSL in an attachment provides adequate ability to do all the requested functions. _____________________

LSL in an attachment provides adequate ability to do all the requested functions. agreed. you could even script an object to make you do the pee-pee dance animation after a certain amount of time if you don't relieve yourself in time, which can be a scripted animation with particle system... heh... and Neko already covered the smell/shower thing pretty well. |
