we need for the land ban feature to ban avs to a given height, but also ban their objects at any height.

What I think Khamon is saying is like I had mentioned a time or two give us control of the zones on our land that we can ban people.
Like ssaying from Planet Mean Altitude 0 to Planet mean Altitude 200 or 200-600 or any combination of ranges that we could set on our land as Removal Zones. Unfortunately, unless enough people see the effective use in this it will be an uphil fight to get implimented. Additionaly Khamon I support you in this endeaver Shadow. _____________________

This is not a solution, as not everyone would do this and self-replicating around the grid might get a little more complicated, but not much.

I like the idea. a lot. it means banlists at places like the aerodrome could then work, instead of having to script something that upsets a lot of people.
HOWEVER, I can still see joe newbie having his land, set to access for him only, with a height set to 768m, which would be damn annoying on the sim. If you are going to do this, I think it would have to apply to the banlist only. |

sorry, by "given height" i meant whatever standard height ll sets. i think it's 40 meters now.
my suggestion is simply to add the banishment of any object that person owns from any height over the land unless it's attached to the person. i ban foo. foo can still travel over my land higher than 40M. foo can still fly over my land attached to the vehicle of foo's choice. foo's unattached objects can not exist over my land at any time in any state. y'all list non-griefing people this will inconvenience. ll needs to consider those. otherwise, this is too easy to code, and too solid a solution, for them to not implement it. _____________________

What an awful thing to implement. Do you mean that I'm going to have to pay $10 now to create another alt account, so that I can send my satellites out in her name? You all are making it extraordinarily difficult for me to use the resources that you pay for.
Tongue in cheek, of course, but you see how this is a halfway solution. I'd still like land permission settings to be applicable to all alts on a single CC#. Like, "Ban XXXX and all alts" Like, "Ban XXXX's objects, and objects by all alts" Even this wouldn't stop a determined problem maker, but it is (I think) the easiest way to implement permission settings across multiple accounts for a person who you may want to restrict from accessing your land. |

Ordinarily, I'd be against this, for one simple reason: It's none of your damn buisness who my alts are. However, it could be done 'blind'... If you ban a person (and all alts), you would only know you banned Joe Randomguy, not Jim Altman as well. That might work. Then the only way you would ever know my alt was Jim Altman is if I went on a "Why cant I enter your land!" rant as Jim Altman. Hmmm. I like it. Of course, I'm not sure if the functionality currently exists to ban-by-CC... I doubt the game knows that information, I suspect the lindens have to check that manually. Not sure though. (Mostly making this post so my postcount is no longer 666, but as long as I'm posting, I might as well add something useful )_____________________

I kinda like this idea....
I like to fly my ships around all the time rather than teleport. Having said that, it gets very difficult when your trying to go somewhere, flying at an altitide of around 800 meters to avoid collissions, and still getting teleported by griefers. Honestly, you should be able to report abuse for that kind of behaviour. But i have a better idea for those greifers who like their privacy: Buy your own ****ing island! The way I see it, SL was not really designed for privacy. |

Reitsuki, I totally agree, it's none of my business who other people's alts are. I don't need to see their name, the ban list could just show "'Name' and all alts".
Of course, if I banned you from my land over a nasty fight, and I saw a new unknown avie 5 mins later bouncing off of the invisible property lines, you wouldn't have as much right to privacy of your secret identities. ![]() |

And I'll keep you out of my land however I damn well please until the lindens stop me, if I feel I need privacy. _____________________
