you are right,Trimda.....just try and find the damned / character on italian keyboard using US layout,lol. And, after all, wouldn't it be better if a disabling option was available? |

How is it "annoying"? The typing animation isn't a frivolous feature thrown in there just for "fun". It serves an important social cue to let people know you're about to say something.

being italian sometimes my choice of english words is not very happy. Rather than annoying i meant tiresome actually. But that is not the problem, anyway. If there is a way of disabling the animation by means of a /, then maybe someone thought it would have been useful to disable it sometimes. What i asked for was not to get rid of the animation, but just an option or a hotkey to disable it if one wished. |

I guess just like the features in major IM clients that let you disable "Allow other users to see that you're typing"
it would be nice... or at least a way to disable the damn clacking of the typing

Is it possible to replace the typing anim with a different one? I find it helpful, especially with groups or events. I like it all around. If I didn't want to see myself typing, I'd just not type. Haha. But that's me. |

You can use llGetAnimationList() and a timer to detect when your avie is typing, then just play a different animation, if you like.
