Linden Lab,
I would like to suggest that the SL moon be recoded to be more correct in moon cycles and revolution rate around the grid. It has been stated, according to this thread , that it would only cost a tiny amount of CPU cycles.

In addition to a corrected moon, we would need llGetMoonDirection to accurately capture the moon's direction, and llGetMoonRotation to get the moon's cycle. We would also need a new estate tool to set the moon direction on island sims.

As for night time ambiance, it is suppose to be dark at night. Perhaps moving the debug tool to force sunset, and renaming it to force daylight, to a more visible place would help any user who did not want to have a dark night on their client.

I hope you will consider this suggestion and consider it's effects on the user base. SL weather has become slightly stagnet due to the decreased interest in it. Perhaps this would be a step in the right direction towards reviving that interest and creating a more dynamic SL. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Cid Jacobs
