How come commands are:

llGetPos()
llGetLocalPos()
llGetRootPosition()

llGetRot()
llGetLocalRot()
llGetRootRotation()

??

Could we, as a solution, make both Pos and Rot and Position and Rotation both be identifiers for the same commands?

llOffsetTexture
llGetTextureOffset

etc etc.

Standardising these - even with just plain aliases would be nice. :)

And what's with the l33tsp33k in some functions, like llList2Integer anyway? Was it so much harder to type that one extra character and have it easier to remember? :)

I was just thinking about this the other day. The scripting language seems so scattered and inconsistent. It would be great if there was some kind of standard... a good example of this is something like llGet* and llSet* for everything. That would be SOOOO nice. ;)

LL could fix this by adding new mappings for the functions. Then just removing the highlighting for the old ones (there are a number of constants that compile but don't highlight).
