From: Kelly Linden Keyboard input was made more standard. If the chatbar is up then keys that are normally used for editing text (such as 'Home' and 'End') will work for editing text. If the chat bar does not have focus (hit esc to close it) then 'Home' (7) and 'End' (9) will work as before to start / stop flying etc. There is a preferences option that (I thought) was intended to allow people to choose whether editing commands should work in the chat bar or should be treated as movement commands. While this option refers to arrow keys, it's not clear to me why one would want to use the most common editing keys (left and right arrow) for movement but reserve the less common ones (like home and end) for editing. When this option is selected, then surely *all* the keypad/cursor motion keys that are normally used for editing text (the four arrows, page-up and page-down, home, and end) should pass throuh to the world, no? Can this be made consistent? Please?

I think what it is now is that if you have "arrows edit chat" enabled, have the chat bar open, AND it's BLANK, the arrow keys get passed to the world. IF there is text, then the arrow keys edit. I might try this, as it makes sense to me and generally if I am typing something, I'm not trying to move at the same time.

I thought I posted that to the Linden Answers forum. It's a direct question for the Lindens. I will now go and do so, and make clear that I'm NOT talking about the feature you're referring to.
