I love the group features that you all implemented a while back. However, it's missing one important detail. The ability to allow group chat per role is greatly needed. I think it was mentioned somewhere in the forums previously, but not sure and cannot find it.
It seems like there are so many different uses for groups that do not involve chatting and spamming LOL. Some groups may want to turn the group chat on and off during specified time periods and only use the group for notices and proposals. The big problem is the unwanted chat that groups get, many times from griefers. Then the loyal and good members get annoyed and leave the group. There is no way of monitoring the group chat unless one is online 24/7 and no real way of filtering out the griefers without being rude. So disabling the group chat unless it's needed would be completely awesome! Can you tell us if this is in the works for an upcoming version? Is a feature proposal needed? Thanks a million, M a d d y P.S. Also if each individual could choose to hear or not hear group chat would be pretty jazzy too!

I think just making it Read Only would go a long way too....at least for the very large groups containing a large portion of the general public. That way clubs, for instance, can just make their announcements without getting replies. They can always say IM me for a tp, if they want to offer that.
But yes, the ability to turn off group chat should be given anyway.

If you need to give announcements, there's an "announcement" feature or something of the like that's much more noticeable and elegant than group chat.
I think turning off group chat on the user side is something we need, on the member side notsomuch.

No, there should be the ability to allow or disalow of posting to the group chat, just because the notice feature is essentially a one-way communication, the chat still exists for people to use. The Council of Wyrms doesn't want people using the chat for non-Isle related things (such as "hi, I'm new" or "hey, anyone want a steak?" because it's spam.
