Can lock rotation, why not translation?

Using llSetStatus one can lock all three axis of rotation, however there is currently no way (that I know) to lock down the translation of an object short of costly timers and SetPos/MoveToTarget. I would personally love to see the following
  1. STATUS_TRANSLATE_X
  2. STATUS_TRANSLATE_Y
  3. STATUS_TRANSLATE_Z
These three things would allow people to do a good number of things that currently cannot be done. Just a thought.

Yes. It would make draggable slider controls possible.

It still seems like a bit of an incomplete system though. I might want a prim to be possible to move along the line y == x, and stop at some particular distance along that line.

It's not obvious to me how to encode such a system nicely.

STATUS_ROTATION_AXIS, <x,y,z>
STATUS_TRANSLATION_AXIS, <x,y,x>

These would be SO useful. Also:

STATUS_ROTATION_REFERENCE, UUID
STATUS_TRANSLATION_REFERENCE, UUID

These would lock rotation and translation of the object to the locked axes of the other object.
