wouldnt it be cool if ppl could move windows (chat history, IM, edit, mini map, big map, etc.) out of the main SL window?... i have 2 monitors on my computer and find myself looking through all these windows when itd be soo cool to have them on the other monitor and have a clear view of my stuff...

This would be neat especialy since SL has a horrible way of handling minimized windows. But I don't see it happening since SL's GUI is all rendered within the client.
I personaly would be happy if SL would just handle minimized windows better than it does right now. (maybe some type of movable task-bar-like thing that sorts your windows)

I thought of a solution to this, sorta...
Allow a preference to change the "center" of your window. By this, I mean the center of where your avatar stands (witha normal camera position) and where the crosshairs are. This way, you could make a two-monitor-spanning window, and then shift the mid point to the center of one of the monitors, instead of a point at the junction of them.
This way, one monitor would look like a regular SL view minus the UI windows, and the other monitor would have a sort of "peripheral vision" with all of the windows.
It's a much easier programming change than trying to let the windows live outside the 3D render window.
(A more expensive end-user option is to get a THIRD monitor so that the monitor in the middle is centered... Though most video cards support only two at a time.)
