This is so annoying. If it can be changed pleaseeeee tell me how. Wherever you move the mouse that stupid white box pops up. Is there any possible way to stop this from happening? I'm in awe that's under options there's not an option to disable that. Also some simple keyword commands would be nice. For instance to should you'd type /shout or /s bla bla bla. For a private message you'd type /tell <username> bla bla bla. Seems like this UI is in the stone age to me pretty much. What gives here?

if you hold Control when you hit enter you'll shout. hope that helps ya a lil bit.

maybe the interface is kinda stone age cause they made the rest of the world so cutting edge. only got so many hours in the day. ;)

/tell would be nice. currently, the easiest way to talk privately with someone is to right click them and choose IM from the menu. if they're not in front of you, FIND their profile and press the IM button there. atually i think the option is "Send IM."

sl is very mouse based. those of us that prefer keyboard for everything just have to adjust. some of the menu options have hotkeys, others don't.

It IS possible to disable tooltips... edit the file app_settings/colors.ini (on Windows, this will usually be under C:\Program Files\SecondLife\app_settings) and add these three lines:
CODE
ToolTipBgColor 0	0	0	0
ToolTipBorderColor 0 0 0 0
ToolTipTextColor 0 0 0 0

This will cause the text, border and background colours to all be completely transparent, so while they'll still come up, you won't see them.

CODE

ColorDropShadow 0 0 0 0
ToolTipBgColor 0 0 0 0
ToolTipBorderColor 0 0 0 0
ToolTipTextColor 0 0 0 0

Oops, my mistake. I didn't actually test it, and I forgot about the dropshadow.

This is the correct code, though it WILL remove dropshadows from windows, which may or may not be annoying for you.

I'd prefer a better fix, like holding a key to get it when you REALLY want and not displaying it at all the rest of the time. I do use it, but rather rarely...

Following the above code what I get is a black box with nothing in it. It seems the 'alpha #' at the end does nothing. Also if I add ColorDropShadow the game won't even load. Is there any other way to get rid of these annoying info bubbles? Or possibly a way to make it where your pointer has to be over the spot for like 10 minutes before the bubble comes up?

It would be nice if there was a setting for tooltip delay time.
