I did a quick search and didnt find a sugestion like this, sorry if its been suggested alread.

SL Businesses:
A person or group of people who come together under a name to bring items to the community.

All objects in the business would be shown as owned by they businesses name(I.E. Mens Prims Boots owned by The Boot House). Also if a person has a question about a certain item they could open a chat with the business, that would send basically a conference IM to the workers of the business that are online at the moment, or if no one is online, will send a message back that no one is currently online. Also people in the business could turn off the IM's if they are busy.. like in some private things not wanting to be interrupted. But this would automatically go back to active when they relog, or teleport, or something like that. Also each item could be set inside the business as to who would get what amount from selling something. Shareing profits for an object made by multiple people, haveing items made by person X, get money for their items, and person Y for their items. Those should be set by the owner of the item that sets it up in the business. Maybe a business database could be added, where business could leave a small description for just the fee of opening a business, and add a longer description and an image if they pay weekly(Like the current place listing), and this business list would show all locations for the business.

Or maybe there can be something like a store poll box, where people can leave mail questions, requests like mail. For the owner/workers in the business.

How it helps: It would save creators and store owners from the usual flood of people asking for custom creations all the time. It would help easily group a set of creators together under on simple name.
For consumers it would help give a name to stores, and a way to find them and store locations easily.

Okay.. so thats my Idea. What do ya all think?
mm?

I fail to see how this is radically different from just having a business set up a group and slightly tweaking those tools.

I just thought it would be helpful, because a few of my Good SL buddies who make alot of things are tormented every time the log on by spam for people wanting custom items.

Oh, and that's what a good alt is for. :D

Your points are well-taken. I just think it's best as part of existing functionality, as opposed to a new one from the ground up.

Well I didnt say you had to make something new from the ground up.. you can take already built in features and modify them, and add a few more. :), and some of my friends have multiple alts, and they eventually get the same spam over time, as more people figure out that they are their alts.

more like why should any one pay extra to get peace and quiet besides the weekly stipen haveing a alt is useless unless you greif people with one
