New Attachment for Fingers / Rings

I think there should be an option to attach or lock an item to a finger on your character. I am not suggesting it needs to apply to every finger, but a single attachment that covered wedding bands and rings would mean that people could have a piece of jewelry attached to their hand and not have to lose the hand attachment position.

It would also allow characters to wear rings that did not move all over the place when the character's hand moves. With the complexity of relatioships in SL it is important to cater to the little things like this. And then those Wedding Rings wouldn't have to come off every time you wanted to hold a beer.

What do you think ?

A good one to add to the list of "new attachment points that would be great to have but LL won't actually implement". :(

Hhmmm a thought about extra attachments.

If Avatar Prim handling is done by the client software ( as I read on another post ) shouldn't adding additional attachment points have relatively low impact on the whole "world" system. How about allowing a certain number of attachment points which you can enable or disable upto the limit. I'd be willing to give up my chin attachment point for a ring finger... or even forget the the pelvis one for an upper nose attachment. I'd rather have a pair of shades than one of those "excite" attachments.

And there are some people who want their pelvis attachment.
I use mine for a tail.
And it's Xcite (XCite? not sure on capitalization) and not all "parts" of that nature are made by Xcite. Personally I find Xcite attachments annoying (along with baby attachments, or various other products that say something to the general chat that not everyone needs to hear: cell phone, booze, MultiGadget, etc. all anyot the **** out of me. Worse are script debug errors printed to the general chat: "Error: can't find animation." honestly, why can't we use llOwnerSay()?)

Zero impact on the sim, minimal impact on the users. That's precisely why the paucity of alternate attachment points is such a stupid problem... it's pointless.

Oh dear god yes.... I don't want to hear how often somebody's diaper needs changed, or whether their baby is kicking, or whatever else. And I'd rather some of my objects whispered only to me without everyone else having to hear it. There needs to be one for owner, and one for only the person who activated the command, like bar menus and such. This is turning into a separate suggestion.... I know nothing about scripting to make a proposal on it though.

It's already in the scripting code!

People using llSay(0,...) or llWhisper(0,...) instead of llOwnerSay(...) or llInstantMessage(av, ...) need adjustment with llOrbitalAnvilLauncher().

Well, I assume that XCite would want to use llInstantMessage(lldetectedkey(0),"You naughty person...";); instead... :)

No. Not really. I just wish I didn't have to listen to it.
Now. If I was going to write and XCite based item (attacment or otherwise) I would use llInstantMessage.

Extra Parts

I didn't mean to come across as saying that the Pelvis attachment point, or any other point, was less important. It's just that if we had to choose ( individually ) which points we could use, say by limiting the number of overal attachments, then I would probably not use the pelvis point.

I echo the desire to avoid listening to people's talking babies, body parts etc. Oh one of my favourites right now is the talking perfume !!! "The smell of Vanilla gently fills the Air" AARRrggghhh. Trivial I know.... but WTF.

SL's av hands are just complex Morphs and there is no way to get the finger positions & rotations for the attach points to work off of.

Try this one, "You enjoy the cold [drink] as you drink it."
That was just awesome. WHAT bloody drink? I don't have a drink!

Oh, and I understand your point about removing attachment points. However, I don't think it'd happen that way.
