I believe if you have the money you should be able to get the land. Its only fair.

Not only that, but up the prims. 117 prims, on a 512 sq.m doesn't go very far. Even if you make/buy low prim objects.

By owning land, you use a specific server, thus taking some resources. So then would it not be fair to Linden to make back a little of the RL money needed to pay the people to support that server?
That is why you must be a paying member before you can get land. As if you are using the sandboxes or a friends land, then you are using common resources, but if you want you own, well, pay.
It sounds fair to me, and for the cost of 1 meal a month to have that land, sounds really fair.
