Reconnect Functionality

Why isn't there just a SIMPLE reconnect function? Why are we FORCED to close our browsers whenever the server faces a hiccup if we want to move our avatars again or want our inputs recognized? SL disconnects WAY too much for having to close my browser every two and a half minutes to be convenient AT ALL. Seriously, what were they THINKING? So many disconnects and not a reconnect button?

okay I'll stop ranting, but I think my point is across.

Agreed - It's a huge pain in the but to retart the game, and it's even worse when it might not start very quickly on some machines...

I've pointed this out to LL and made posts about it (lengthly ones too).
Mostly because I have mroe connectivity problems than SL does (i.e. my network vs. LL network). Right now my desktop works fine, but my laptop, connected to the same router, though with an IP address to talk to the router is perfectly incablable of talking to the outside world. Everytime I call Linksys I get some idiot who doesn't understand and just makes me reset the damned thing. "THAT DOESN'T SOLVE MY PROBLEM YOU ASS!" [Indian woman] "All you need to do sir, is powercycle. And if it does it again, just powercycle your system again. There is nothing wrong with your router."

Ok, I think I'll stop. Heh, getting towards lengthy again (and I'm just ranting).

oh, please, don't worry about it... you wouldn't say it if it didn't need to come out. At least MY ears are open to you ^^ go ahead and rant away. I like what you have to say and I'd like to hear it.

Lol, I only tell the story to freaking everyone. Had one of the Live Help Lindens (Cookie? I forgot who) listening to me for an hour or so, lol. The router, why I hate my family, the Drexel Shaft....

Why don't you just get another router?

I really want this feature >_< it's too simple, too easy, makes TOO MUCH SENSE to let slide into the abyss of lost memory!

You know what? Ever since the update, I can't hardly even GET AROUND in SL!
I really like riding my motorcycle. I like it a LOT, and there's few things I enjoy more than popping a wheelie, jamming the nitro, and FLYING. Yep. My bike flies. Or really, hurls itself ballistically. but TOO OFTEN, I am at some 300 meters of altitude in a forward-velocity freefall when suddenly, >GLITCH<

And i'm drifting through empty space, my bike nowhere to be seen, my coordinates flying like god knows what, and i realize, DAMMIT, I HAVE TO RECONNECT!
or more specifically DAMMIT, I HAVE TO CLOSE SL, AND THEN OPEN THE DAMNED THING ALL OVER AGAIN!

WHY?
