Separate categories for 'Top Picks' - Commercial/Noncommercial

Linden 'Top Picks' have been an integral part of SL for some time now. The trend in making these picks, has started to weigh heavily towards commercial enterprises, which favors those that recieve awards and other programs. Given that these participants already enjoy a benefit from the system, I fear the smaller and unknown users that have significant contributions, albeit non-commercial, are being overlooked - or simply buried in the pro-commercial elements of the 'Top Picks' list.

The reasons for dividing the lists are clear:

1) Commercial enterprises have their own funds for promotion, in the forums and in-world via different methods of land acquisition and advertising (billboards, events, etc.)

2) Private concerns that are not necessarily driven by profit do not receive significant dwell, due to their voluntary nature, and are often ignored in selection/promotion.

3) By encouraging a space where recognition can be gained, regardless of financial investment in SL, Linden Lab would be 'going back to its roots' as it were, allowing other artists who can't own large blocks of land or other interests to promote their work.

4) By stultifying the creative atmosphere by having one list dominated by commercial interests, the message being communicated is - 'Don't bother if you don't have a commercial aspect to your work'.

5) The list is populated with non-profit contributions, however a separate list would allow an atmosphere of artistic competition to thrive, versus getting buried conveniently in a list that is dominated by those with the largest wallets.

6) By accepting this proposal and acting upon it, Linden Lab could ingratiate themselves with artists that have been privately mortified by the accelerating rush down the 'L$/USD rules all' fitness landscape.

Thanks for reading.

I think this is a good idea. Now I get it.

They're putting primarily commercial interests on the Top Picks listings? The idiots!
