Now, I recognise the need to restrict prims in a parcel, but why does it have to be so abusive? I explore most of the time and sometimes I am travelling along a public access route, or flying across mainlands when my journey is rudely aborted by a full sim. This is particularly bad when flying, no matter what height you try and travel. And what is the point in having public access routes if this happens? Who wants to walk around the Linden roads?!?!?!
How about making SL a bit friendlier to explorers by allowing temporary access, having spare prims everywhere to stop this happening? It doesn't happen when you are wearing 9473957693793 prim cloths and lagging a sim to death, so why the hell should a sub-32 prim vehicle be persecuted against?
The Lindens need to stop persecuting explorers...they might as well make every sim an isolated entity. Forget shadows and clouds and all that nonsense, how about making the current systems better and stop putting sugar on dogshit...

Pointless public access route

While on this subject, has anyone visited the new mainland yet? Apparently it is un-named as yet, asnd I have a suggestion...
How about calling it Anti-social Land?
After searching and searching I finaly found a public access route, then eventually found somewhere I could rez a vehicle....but guess what. Not only is this new mainland an orgy of ban-lines, 3 sims into my journey I was screwed over by a full sim! WTF is the point in this? They might as well sell off all of the public access routes here to ad-farms or something, because it serves no purpose at all.
No brains....

Set your vehicle to temp-rez. Once you sit on it, it won't "temp out" and you can bypass prim limits most everywhere you go. (^_^)y

No brains.... I see now that the Lindens have named it Gaeta I and renamed Gaeta to Gaeta V. The next three mainlands will follow on with other Gaeta names. Wow, how imaginative. Where is the logic in re-naming old Gaeta to Gaeta V? This must have been a very short meeting, attended by the toilet cleaning department only, I'm guessing... I'm off to change the names of a bunch of explorers LMs, maps and other stuff...where do they get these idiots from?!?!?

In theory, you shouldn't have to set vechicles to be temp to cruise around - not sure I see why it'd help but I'll take Imy's word for it. Sims already have extra prim space, above the normal 15k, for things like temp objects, attachments and things being sat on. If you're getting tossed on sim crossings in a vehicle and you're more than 50m above ground, you're probably running into SVC-22. Normally, when you cross into a full parcel, the sim should see that the object is being sat on and not count the prims against the parcel limits. This doesn't always happen correctly when you cross a sim line and the parcel on the far side doesn't have any free prims - the bug is that the sim decides that the parcel is over-full and starts tossing the vehicle _before_ it knows that somebody's sitting in it. It's pretty ugly - worse than hitting a ban line - and usually means a relog for everybody that was on the vehicle. Vote for SVC-22 to get fixed at: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-22

I guess the many many many times in the last year where I have had a journey ruined and a Linden message telling me that my vehicle has been sent to lost-and-found due to the parcel being full, must all be in my imagination....

Maybe you should try reading what Sindy wrote. She told you exactly what the problem is and the JIRA to vote for. Or is it my imagination that you're just being a smartass and didn't actually vote for it?

Yes, SVC-22. I think it's the longest-standing critical problem in JIRA. I sure appreciate the attention, folks. Can't put images in this forum, apparently, so here's a link to the obligatory picture of a ferret: .

Hey that is a great suggestion about setting your vehicle to temp rez. It would certainly cut down on all the abandoned junk left behind when the occupants crash and don't return to clean up their mess.
