No more right-click-freezing other people's objects!

One thing I've never understood is why everyone has the ability to freeze any physical object by right-clicking it. I know it's useful when applied to objects you actually own.... but when it comes to other people's objects, the bad stuff greatly outweighs any potential advantages (if there are any). This "feature" can be used to grief other players (e.g. vehicle freezing), mess with physics-based games, and just cause general mischief. Can anyone think of a good reason why this shouldn't be changed?

A while ago me and a group of friends were in the sandbox, when a large group of other people were inside a physical ball heading directly toward us. Now we could have flown up, but telling everyone to suddenly fly up and don't ask questions, well, just doesn't work. So instead, I simply right clicked the ball and told the people in the ball to go a different direction.

So there are instances where I love being able to stop physical objects to "save us all".

On the other hand, I find it annoying and a bit unintentional when I wanted to get in a vehicle. Such as "Hey I'll hop on that vehicle, but will I screw up the script?" etc.

So! What you *could* do, is have it optional client side, such as "Right Click Stops Physical Objects", then when say *you* right click an object, it would not stop it unless you had it checked.

However, this still leaves the issue of other people doing it to you or to legit games, etc. I have no solution for this. :/

Maybe have it be a land setting? "Others Right Click Can Not Stop My Physical Objects"? This would help with the games, but not so much legit vehicles.

Nope. Happens globally. Fortunately, our game has a failsafe to keep stuff "stopped" in this manner right on course (as Beatfox discovered).

Approved.

Oz covered it very well. Numerous times have I stopped other people's runaway physicals heading towards me or over land that it should not have been on, etc. Perhaps this would make a good land parcel toggle, but not as a global change.

Catherine Omega: Yes, but lots of stuff isn't listed. "Making UI harder to use than ever" and "removing all the necessary status icons" things.... there's nothing like that in the release notes. :)
