Inventory: Folders auto-open when item added

Can we un-do this recent "innovation"?

When I'm sorting my inventory, and move an object into a folder, that folder automatically opens, and remains open after dropping the object in it.

This is very frustrating, causing a lot of scrolling.

Opening two windows doesn't fix it, becuase it still opens the folder and scrolls you to it in the first window (where you're sorting from).

Yes. It's borked anyway. And a bad idea in the first place.

Yes, noticed that too. Very annoying!

I concur. I had a few moments yesterday that were a comical panopoly of opening and closing folders as the item I wanted to move became inaccessible because my mouse movements weren't fast enough to avoid the auto-open. :)

Like Kexy says, yes please -- it is such a pain to organize. :( If anything, at least provide a few-second delay to auto-open a folder... like 5 secs is reasonable.

I say thankya.

Stamped for Endorsement, give us the option to disable it, or drop it.

Yes I hate that "feature". In fact, I would go as far as to say that a few NEW "folders" should be mandatory:

~UNSORTED PURCHASED ITEMS (ie shopping bag folder)

~ITEMS DROPPED ON YOU ONLINE/OFFLINE

The Tilde(~) added so that the folders bump to the top of my inventory list.

These would be necessary so you know EXACTLY where a new object went in your inventory, and you can control where it goes from there. Inventory management is tough enough without all that extra scrolling! :p

Yes, please. It's become far more difficult to take care of that heaping pile of flotsam and jetsam I've the gall to call my inventory.

After that's fixed, the next step in regaining control will be to somehow convince myself that "free to copy" is not the same thing as "you must take a copy".

Let's trade this for "drag-and-drop multiple items" and we'll be happier :)

Please please fix this soon! I've let my folders get into a total mess since this started and today I tried to clean and up and practically ended up in tears! (;_;)

This feature has been added to an external SL build tool. IM me if you are interested to help beta test.
