We've got some jokers here who think it's funny to have names that are real long.
"010000100111001001100001011011" is one that comes to mind.

I'd prefer not to see names that long. The display is chaotic and jumbled enough without names like that.

The features being requested here is the ability to set a limit on the length of the names that are displayed in front of chat, and to have the Mute person stop their chat from showing up in IMs.

It's particularly annoying seeing these extra long names appear over and over when the person starts spamming a utilitarian group's chat with nonsense.

Agreed. There should be a limit to the length of name people can use at first register too.

On the side note, that long string of 0 and 1 can be translated to "Bra" :P I guess that one is a programmer :P
