A thought crossed my mind today i thought i would share incase you can develop a way to stop land abuse from it. When looking for land to sell i see a lot of people have the land set at a billion linden for 500 meters and are useing land sales for advertisement. Others use 16 meter spots priced at 10k with ugly adds that can only be removed by buying the lot. My solution is to put a cap on the price per square meter that a lot can be set at. From what i can see in the adds 30L per meter is about as high as someone can expect to get for any land, even 25 is outragous but i can see it happening. If a 30L per meter price cap on land would cut out false sales and make it unprofitable for jerks with adds.

I made that suggestion once. The people who are against what you are against shot me down for proposing something outrageous of "we want to sell our land at any price we see fit" or some (scribble) thing like that.

The ugly sign can be removed by placing invisible pims around it.
My new neighbor put up a 4m tall wall and in return I put up a 30m square cube using phantom invsi prims. Now his wall and his entire land is just a blank field to me.

Oh! How? How do you make invisible prims? My neighbor did the same thing and my trees aren't really hiding his hideous repeating texture fence.

Thistle, I sent you the script inworld. I yoinked it from an avatar that had prims to hid the human shape. It's a freebie script because of how much it can do.

But I doubt it can hide non-transparent ad prims though. So far I know it can only hide transparency, trees and water/cloud prims.

Thanks, got it. I tried it on the fence and it didn't hide it, but it did hide almost everything on my side. So I sent a copy to the neighbor, told him what it does, and asked him to use it. ^^

No, it counts as a prim for the purposes of O-O occlution. My friend has an art gallery encased inside a hollow one/several. It almost literally gives the feeling of Privacy in a Pocket.

Are you sure about the O-O occlusion? It hides my trees but it doesn't hide the fence.

It'll hide the fence if it's far enough away from the fence that the fence and the invisiprim are in different zones as far as the culling algorithm is concerned.
This isn't reliable, though... as you move around the culled objects can show up again.

So it hide it all O-O and invisiprim does make sense though

*chuckles* a little yes. But there are only several photo prims in there. So it's not that bad =p

I've found that I only have to hide the oct-tree box and the entire box will disapear. This includes the land and any objects.
There also apears to be two invsi prim textures. The one will hide solid objects at times.
I removed my invisi prim wall since I decided that the wierd effects of loosing the land and everything behind it was worse than his wall.
