hi i was on anouther VR world Prog While SL was Down (Although Nout Beats SL) this VR World Had a Fab Mirror Reflected Texture i was Taken a Back and thought what a fab thing to have in SL real time Reflected Mirrors, Mmmm endless posibilaties, and would be great for chiner town would make that sim rock cos as thay have a copy of the town under the sim to produce the reflections from the puddels, it would then be possible to texture map a puddle to reflect up would make the sim run much faster and save on prims so thay could do more to it.

I read somewhere about a reflective floor in SL, but when I went to look at it myself, the build was gone. I'm completely curious what game this is? I know MMOs like Guild Wars and such have reflective water now.

Mirrors

Worlds.com has mirrors, they function as a "portal" ( a door or gateway between rooms or worlds {I.E. sims}) that connects to itself

have you considered how incredibly horrible it would be on the rederer if a mirror texture was appiled to a sphere or a torture prim? The vast number or reflections that would need to be rendered would generate tens of thosands of polygons. Mirroring simple object is easy but when you mirror complex objects reflected off complex objects it becomes impracticle to add this feature.

Gees Strife so negative. LOL. Guy is talking about a simple mirror.
I too have seen such in WORLDS.COM, and Worlds is about as simple a graphics engine as they come. Mirrors are in all kinds of games. Would be a neat feature. _____________________

a mirror would probably only create client side lag... it could be an option, so people on slow machines could have it turned off while higher spec machines could enjoy the sexy reflections
But i doubt it will happen in sl till 2.0 or somthing lol_____________________

A mirror just for me (or you, in your case)
06-28-2005 09:53
I would be content with a mirror that would just reflect my av to me, I like being able to see what I look like without having to move the camera around.
Even a little dialog box or such showing my face from the front would be nice, it would be good to be able to see what facial expression I am displaying. _____________________
