I came home meaning to post this, and saw a generic version of the same idea in another forum, along with some suggestions which I don't think will ever fly. So:

It would really be nice if a prim's surface could show alternate textures to different agents. I think the potential benefits to in-world group games (such as Archae's Texas Hold'em) are obvious.

Hmmmmmm Yoshi you also touched on a great other storm that was brewing -- it is a good idea, and you know what else it could be used for? Sci-fi sort of adventures where you throw a bunch of people in the same room but they all see different things! It would be a collective virtual delusion and would very well be used to extend something such as Nash Baldwin's (where are ya!? :) ) awesome Virtual Hallucinations project.

And I have heard some have complained about wanting to show a certain type of texture privately for whatever reason. Well, it could be like those "screen protectors" you put on that distort the image when you view it at an angle, except this would be much more controlled, with permissions assigned to specific members of a group for the purposes of discussion or something. In other words, when text-based IM won't do and pictures are needed for collaboration within SL. Maybe even a whiteboard with dynamic editing of the texture seen and a primitive "Paint" interface.

Or, how about this: a type of prim hallucinogenic that you take, that starts to smoke up your vision and everything looks like waffles. A further version of Zyme from Deus Ex.

So many exciting possibilities! :D

I endorse this. Great possiblities as Torley points out. :)
