Hiya. I've only been in Secondlife for three days, now (and one of those days has been spent waiting for it to come back online) but I've noticed a few things about it that I think could be improved.
Here's a few quggestions:
1) Global hug: This one's a holdover from the MUCK/MUD days, when you could just type "hug (name)" to trigger a piece of code which told the player they had been hugged, and which would let the players set messages for their responses to it. In SL's case, it would be nice if there were a global "hug" gesture that could be triggered so one avatar could hug another.
2) Custom Hands: It's great that you can customise the body shape and size, but a few extra knobs and switches would add to the customisation abilities. For example:
a) Number of fingers
b) webbed hands
c) claws
d) Toony/realistic
3) Some additional settings on the primitives would be nice, too. At present, you can make a very nice ovoid out of a sphere - I'd like to be able to add a set of taper controls, that would you create a proper egg shape.
4) On the same idea as the custom hands - it would be great if there were a way to customise the leg shape too. Insectoid, animalistic, etc... Think "satyr legs"and you're on the right track.
Anyway, those are my suggestions. I realise some of them can be handled by application of primitive modelling, or uploaded .bvh files or what-have you, but really, it would be great to have these things built right in.
cheers!
