A problem I always have is I buy an outfit and its no modify but does not fit right !!

a feature to make it so a user can always modify even when seller sets to no modify (SIZING changes nothing else) ie make it so the end user can always change the sliders that effect SIZING for example skirts. I always need to increase waist and bustle to make it fit my av without the av's skin showing through the clothing.

its annoying to have to contact the seller all the time to get them to send me another modifyable so I can make it fit properly. they always help me out but its annoying to me and probably annoying to them as well.

so the suggestion is to make it so even when an article is set to no modify that the buyer can still alter the minimum settings needed to make the garment fit. for skirts thats waist and bustle. I am not sure if there are other settings that need to be alterable but those are the only 2 I "must" be able to change to make them fit. those are the only ones that have given me trouble so that might be the ONLY change needed. pants and shirts always rez fine and I never have to alter them.

I see no logical reason not to allow them to be changed so far :-)

I agree that I prefer to have my clothes customizable -- like offline, a little nip and tuck may be needed on the fabric to get it sitting on your avatar just the way you like it. In some cases though, I understand that there are creators who simply don't want to set their clothes to MOD because they don't want to give up control of that permission. Perhaps they are creating authentic Renaissance wear and don't want to let some fiend tint it pink-or-green, or whatever.

I do know that in several instances where I've asked a number of clothing designers in SL, they have been quite gracious to me, enough to ask me to send them back the originals so they can send me MOD-COPY-TRANSFER clothes -- my preferred configuration. Sometimes it's as easy as asking and getting to know someone, and the added bonus if you can get insight into their artistic inspiration too! :)

If I could set my clothes to allow slider modification without opening up texture modification (either people taking textures, or dropping in their own) I would. The permissions system really needs more granularity than it has.

^ I overlooked that, the whole texture thing. "Granularity" is a great word!

exactly ! the texture thing I understand. making clothing is pathetically easy in SL I do it every day. the TEXTURE is where the MASSIVE workload is and what makes the different between clothing and truly awesome clothing.

they need to allow slider and still lock out textures. that right there would solve the problems.

I have never had a seller refuse me thats not the issue. its just work for me and uneccassary work for the seller.

All so far have been very helpful.
