Can we have a toggle option that would allow us to turn off the display of those ugly RED land privacy borders?

I have friends who say that those ugly red lines come through their walls (see pic below), even though they have built more than a meter inside their own property. It is REALLY annoying to see, especially if it interferes with a build that someone has taken a long time to get looking good.

Anybody have any input on this issue?

Thanks!

Artillo

I think they should be off. The person in back of my house has them on and it looks like they're coming through my windows. Really annoying and ugly!!!

This is actually possible already. You just need to modify one of the files on your drive.

Look for this file:

c:\Program Files\SecondLife\app_settings\viewerart.ini

Open in notepad, vii, emacs, edit, whatever.

Look for these 2 lines:

noentrylines.tga 5d3e196b-fd4d-ada7-e4c1-99f8e9f1cfbf
noentrypasslines.tga ac8f8627-6a30-8da8-d4bd-958668eea7a0

Replace them to read:

noentrylines.tga 5c1eac24-f184-9a5f-a01e-824de9cee462
noentrypasslines.tga 5c1eac24-f184-9a5f-a01e-824de9cee462

Whammo! Clear ban lines. The rules are still enforced, you just don't have to look at the ugly lines.

*Note, this will only effect your view, not anyone elses.

Thanks for the info Pete. Well, if it's that easy to change, it shouldn't be too hard for the Lindens to add it to the next rev ehh???

:: BUMP :: :)
